Breeze up to Stanmer Park

Description: Take the 78 bus from Old Steine (Stop Z), or metro line 25, to Stanmer Park and visit the historic village and the Downs around. Stanmer Park has been shaped by human activity for 5000 years. In the 18th century the Pelham family bought and landscaped the park and built Stanmer House. The park makes up part of a nationally important landscape known as the Sussex Downs Area of Outstanding National Beauty. Stanmer House is an impressive restored building. The church and pond opposite create a beautiful park setting. There is a cafe and accessible public toilets in Stanmer village. Further information on enjoying Stanmer Park can be found in our Stanmer & Ditchling Beacon leaflet: www.brighton-hove.gov.uk/downloads/bhcc/countryside/stanmer___ditchling.pdf
